The project LookingGlass: from 1997-2004 it was a window-gallery in the center of Brussels.

LookingGlass presents site-specific work which aims to relate to the (often unsuspecting) audience.
Openness, challenge and communication are thus starting points for the interventions. Artistic image and sound open up a dialogue with the cacophony of images and sounds on the street. Besides the specificity of the space and the location, process is an important tool to challenge the audience. Where a lot of (the same) people pass each day, the attentiveness and imagination of the audience is challenged.
From 1997 till today, LookingGlass presented 55 original, site-specific projects by Belgian and international artists. LookingGlass offers, with these interventions, a platform to young contemporary artists on a prominent location in the city of Brussels. In this way LookingGlass aims to contribute to the cultural and artistic image of the city on a local and international level.

December 2004, LookingGlass joins forces with Code31 and mxHz: together they set up the umbrella organisation OKNO, a medialab for art & technology in Brussels.
The change of physical location brings along a new definition for LookingGlass: it changes its name in , which means 'noise, disturbing sound' in Japanese.

SO-ON is the production and presentation unit inside of OKNO. It focuses on art and new media. Its aim is to identify innovation and change in new aesthetical presentation techniques.
All projects are linked to the problematization of new art in the public space, from a socio-cultural background. New technology including internet as a medium for performing, is predominantly present in the exhibitions and installations.
SO-ON projects tend to present the process of art production: planning, collaboration, building up, etc... Its' projects function as an attractionpole for the audience, who interact with the setup, sometimes puzzled, sometimes bewildered, and most of the time unfamiliar with new media art. As such SO-ON wants to stimulate the awareness of the public, confronting them with unexpected interactive installations, performances, concerts and lectures.
